Theology of the Body
George Weigel has described Theology of the Body (TOB) as "one of the boldest reconfigurations of Catholic theology in centuries." He goes on to say it is a "kind of theological time bomb set to go off with dramatic consequences, sometime in the third millennium of the Church."
Archbishop Chaput said that Christopher West's keen grasp of John Paul II's Theology of the Body and his ability to make it accessible to others is changing lives, strengthening marriages, and renewing people's faith in the Church across the country and internationally. He is on the front lines of the new evangelization and his message should be heard by all.
This past October 16th - 17th, Christopher West was in Toronto to give a conference on the TOB. The day before the conference, he was a guest on the Michael Coren Show. There were some very valuable insights into the TOB provided during this interview. Click HERE to view this very informative interview.
Contraception was not invented (mostly by men) to prevent pregnancy. Contraception turned the sex act into an animalistic act which had terrible disorienting effects on society. Contraceptive technologies have turned women into nothing but call girls to be readily available for meaningless sex. All our sexual acts are geared towards pleasure at the expense of other people. If a child results, I may be bitter, or I may even kill the child: lust leads to death sex...
...Hence there is a clear link between contraception and abortion.
TOB is the result of a five-year catechetical series that the John Paul II began shortly after his election. What was the Holy Father's motivating factor in making TOB the 1st priority of his pontificate?
